For over 110 years, Tbaytel has recognized the importance of evolution and innovation. Tbaytel has grown to become the largest independently owned telecommunications provider in Canada and offers extensive products and services that include faster Data, Voice, Wireless, Internet, Digital TV and Security.

There’s one technological invention that enters our lives on a daily basis, affecting us in so many ways that it’s almost impossible to imagine life without it. This device existed long before the computer and has been reducing the distance between people since before the mass production of the automobile. It also helped to connect the two communities of Port Arthur and Fort William before their formal amalgamation in 1970. In fact, the people of the two cities placed so much importance on this invention they decided that they themselves should control the provision of this technology. The organization they created has existed in one form or another for the last 110 years, surviving one devastating fire, some economic downturns and two World Wars. The invention is, of course, the telephone; the organization is Thunder Bay Telephone, or most recently, Tbaytel.
